The Vineyard Church Thanksgiving Dinner 09

There's so much to give thanks for, especially for what God has been doing in our church~ =)


It's rare that we'd do something like this, but since this is a thanksgiving dinner for the church in thanking them for their faithfulness in our church's Haggai, we've decided to have a dinner in Bangsar Seafood in celebration of thankfulness, especially in God's faithfulness =)
My first duty was to photograph the young ladies~ XD

But by being in one of the church staff... I had to dress up a little nicer, thus meaning to wear a coat... along with a big camera..
Not really the thing you'd see everyday in the outfit of a photographer but... ahh what could I do?? Brought 300D along to help me out since tonight would be a night of fast moving and no time to stop in changing lens -_-

Wasn't long later till they begun one of the main highlight presentations of the night...
Which was the dance and drama ministry's dance... yeah they practiced a long time for this...
along with the help of the kids~ ah if your wondering those are fake instruments =)
Everything happened so fast and... well it was my first time doing a lowlight shoot, especially for a fast pace performance which is dancing, hard to capture.... so only one turned out erm... acceptable...

So disappointed in myself...
Then dad make a beginning speech
While the other musicians were preparing backstage... somehow my flash fired with an extra power and I got a super over exposed shot... what was that I wondered??

But that really destroyed the picture, along with a few others I took... so only option was to turn it off..
But yeah sometimes you just can't beat what natural light could do in situations such as these...

Lily Tan, I think alot of people might know her in the musical part since she's now super famous and been playing in alot of gigs~ =P

Still an honor having someone like that in our church =)

After awhile... went on to the children's section to see what they were doing~~
She just starred at me and smiled.... not sure if she was happy or erm.... donno~~
Ezra, super pro drummer baby at the age of 2

Nothing much interesting so back to the performance =)
Cleatus, another known legend in the musical part, kinda famous in many churches too... not quite sure why, but yeah his bass skills are amazing~ =]
Justin, my brother in law, and also one of the most pro guitarist I've seen so far, used to be from Revival Center but after marrying my sister he changed over... haha but really great to have him =)

For this picture I tried out different light effects to it in photoshop...

Nothing spectacular though... but didn't know what happen and the original suddenly disappeared so I'm left with these... sharks -_-
Then was Ashley's dance performance~~

Then we had an auction, selling stuff that church members donated to sell in building funds for the church =)
we sold alot of goods~~
Noah's ark... this was a favorite of many =)
then at some parts the flash did me good...
then at times it really screwed up...
as in really bad when you needed the shot to be good

So yeah really something wasn't right with my flash at that moment, tried resetting but still quite the same problem... oh well
at that time they had an encore for the dance performance... so I guess it was a second chance to redeem myself, at least this time I know what's coming ahead so could get the settings right for it~~







Wasn't the best.... but I guess it was an improvement from before...??

Then we had our lucky draw... everyone was ultra excited about it because everyone wanted to get their hands on the super big LCD TV
Cousin won the 8th place
Uncle won this for friend... in a way then the members were wondering if we were planning something anot =P
BUT somehow the TV was won by one of the youths...arrrgh! =P

Well then we concluded, and everyone wanted to go around taking pictures and stuff~ =)







At this part I tried one of those DIY flash diffusers... but... erm... donno =P
Ah well at the end I found out what was wrong with my flash, one of the reason was because of the contact problem between the flash and my camera that's why it metered wrong... just took it out, wipe a bit then can d..

Saw online that this was a common problem, and one solution was to unscrew it out then tighten the screws inside... eek...

But so far... no problems lu

Either way we had a fun dinner, the events went well, the turnout was great, everyone was happy... and God was glorified through it all =)

Thank God
