Today... went to Sungai Wang, why?? Well fell for the temptation and wanted to go get myself a PSP today~~ =]
Prices were rather tempting though, some of rm600 plus, and some was even on the side of rm550 and stuff, but till we reached a shop where the guy became honest with us and told us that it won't be worth the money to get a PSP now because of the problems it's giving...
Kinda made me go blur like "har??"
And he started telling the story that the latest PSP now, Sony has made it un-crackable, so thus impossible to play pirated or even downloaded games, and I though "well that sucks!!" but eventually they have managed to crack the latest PSP, but they could only hack it till so far of being half way...
what's half way??
Well... in a way of putting it simple, when you play games, you turn on the set, when you don't wanna play games you turn off the set~ but with a half modified PSP, when you turn it on, you can't turn it off... because if you turn the PSP off, or if it even runs out of battery... just as long as the set is turned off... do that the whole PSP would reset to original, thus deleting all the pirated or downloaded games on your PSP memory card... -_-"
THEN you have to re-install the software onto the PSP AGAIN, then do a little things here and there, then you can play again, but yeah you can't turn it off... so the trick is to keep your PSP on forever, and to keep the charger charging... that kinda sucks, especially at the thought that that might fry the PSP motherboard or destroy the battery...
In a simple way...
when it's turned off = everything gone
what made it worse is when you accidentally press the network update button, that would literally lock up the whole PSP thus making it unplayable... so he said in the end you can just use it as a ball to throw around or rather a doorstopper since it'll then be practically useless...
That really sucks -_-"
Of course it sounds good with a PSP now selling at 500-600, but that's because they don't include the software, with the software it'll add on another RM150 to it... but it's just there so if you accidentally turn it off then the software is there to help you re-modify it again... but it's practically useless when you lose everything especially your saved games and stuff =.=
The safest option?? Well it would be to get the 1st or 2nd generation PSP because those are fully modified, no problems at all, no software needed, just need to update the firmware once awhile... what's best?? Well you can finally turn it off without a single worry~~ yay!!
BUT of course they have stopped production for the 1st and 2nd generation PSP's... shoot...
BUT in another way... just to help you all know which is the 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation PSP~ cause I myself didn't know about it at first~~

but can't really tell the differences huh?? Don't worry =)

But the 2000 and 3000 model, well that's the tricky one~

Another way to find out...

wasn't so bad was it?? =]
in a way of summarizing everything together:
PSP 1000 - most stable one, no problems at all, safe and the best at playing downloaded games~
PSP 2000 - slimmer, looks nicer in a way, like the PSP 1000 is also stable at download games
PSP 3000 - better screen, built in mic, super unstable if your playing download games, screw up once and the whole set can throw d...
Kinda sad though... but proves how geng people are getting to prevent piracy ~~ but then again they sell stuff so expensive, hard for people like us leh~~ but I think somehow in the future they'll surely be able to crack the psp 3000, but until then... erm... I don't know, there's a shop that has two more PSP 2000 new models, Metalic Blue and Pink color... urrrr!!!
Still checking around, a 2000 model is definitely more expensive now!! But just checking around and see la, hopefully can find one with a nice price though =)

Oh yeah, Sony Center is selling the PSP GO for RM1088, but Sungai Wang sells it for RM880 -_-"
Then again, no point buying it now since you can't play any games with it unless you download...
