1 Corinthians 10:23

Interesting thing I've learned today...

1 Corinthians 10:23 -
"Everything is permissible" -- but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible" -- but not everything is constructive.

God has given us all a free will, a free will to do whatever we want to, a free will to go wherever we want to, but in this time of freedom, how are we using our freedom?? Are we taking advantage over it?? Are we taking it for granted?? Are we living a life that's really stretching the grace of God upon us??

With freedom, also must come with wisdom, to take nothing for granted, but to also be smart in living our lives, though we have the free will to do whatever pleases us, but... do know your boundaries, know when to draw the line, know when to say no to something that you know isn't right...

Like what Paul says that though everything may be permissible, yet not everything is beneficial, would doing that certain act be benefiting to yourself?? Does it help in your Christian walk, or does it destroy and creates a bad image affecting those around you??

And in the second part of that verse Paul also says that though everything may be permissible, yet not everything is constructive... freedom to do what we want, yet that freedom could also be what destroys us, how are you using your freedom today?? As something that's building your character in God, or something that's tearing down the walls of your life and misleading you further from His will??

This little verse says little, but has a really deep and impactful meaning to it to myself personally, as by being a young adult now, people would already tend to think for me to be an adult, to be matured enough, to be able to handle responsibilities, that's why the door has been opened to freedom, but I guess I went a little overboard in misusing the freedom that has given, lots has happened too... but I thank God for people who are there to give advice, people who are there to tell me that I am falling and need to get back up, people telling me that my Spiritual Walk is being affected and I really need to do something about it...

Though we are free to do whatever we want, but remember that every single action that we do in life, it has consequences that comes along, would it be something beneficial, something constructive, or something that would destroy us?? We might think of having a little fun, but that fun could be something that affects those around us without us know... consequences...

Wisdom, that is what my lecturer always tells us, wisdom... it goes beyond the knowledge of the world, and it's far more advanced than common sense, good sense. Wisdom is what we need in this world we're living in, wisdom to stand up for what's right, wisdom to say no to the things that are wrong, wisdom to give us the strength to flee from temptation and whatever's wrong, and the wisdom for us to know how to live a life that's right for God...

What is right? What is wrong? Only wisdom could tell us that, and I could only pray for His wisdom to fill us that we might be able to know what is rightfully right in His eyes....

Just a little something I wanted to share =)

But really... don't take your freedom for granted, know your limits... and also, with freedom, it must also come with wisdom

God Bless
