Wendy Kumiko

I've never been more excited to blog about this~!! =)

Few weeks ago was the time where I had my first model photoshoot~ always wanted to try it, and Wendy was kind enough to be my volunteer, and since it was her first time too of trying out a photoshoot... I guess we were both on an even ground to hope to learn together~

Well we planned to go to Lake Gardens... and as I've said before in my Lake Garden post that unless you're going there with a model, there's no point going... it's just too plain and empty~

But on that day, I had to go to the office to work first till 1pm, and half way it was raining, as in literally dark clouds!! I thought to myself oh no....

BUT well we continued on with the plan, and when we arrived there the rain kinda stopped, but the ground was wet... guess I won't be lying on the floor for the time being....

Either way... shall we begin? =)

You can click on the pictures for a larger view~~
We both started off in the bridge
But I just felt so nervous and pressured wondering if the pictures would turn out nice, if I would screw up anot, alot of negative things flying through my mind, but... tried to ignore it and continue shooting, worry later... =)
This was taken with the sunlight directly behind her, and I boost the camera's exposures up a few stops, along with using the Japanese Picture Style... not many people like it because it looks super overexposed, but I'm not sure why but I like this alot =)
Was also a good opportunity to get myself familiar with my new 17-40 L lens...
After a few shots we moved on, almost slip and fell because of the moss on the bridge, for a moment I thought I saw flashbacks of my life in seconds because of the thought of dropping camera... but thank God that did not happen XD

in this picture I'm sure you all have already noticed the difference in her clothes, but that shall remain a secret now~ XD
Moved on to the erm... big round place with pillars...
This picture seems to tell a story, but I don't know what it is =)

This was a shot where she was spinning in a circle, and of the few burst shots, only one came out right, thought of making a picture combining her whole spin but... erm not too good
hopping hopping =)
Then moved on next to the little pier~

After taking a few shots, we saw in the opposite side that.. there were ducks???? O.o

Last time when I came there weren't any ducks... flew in from the south?? O.o

Anyways we just rushed over, having to walk over slighty muddy ground but... arrrr well!
Wendy playing with the ducks
After some time when she was chasing the ducks in circles suddenly the ducks decided to gather together...
See the duck on the top left?? I think that is their gang leader since he has sort of like a tattoo on it's head... I THINK it's a male... but it was quacking alot, I think they were sort of like getting a little fed up at the fact of being chased, and now their discussing what to do about it
Either way... it's a scary thought... best don't mess with them~~ =P

Well awhile later we decided to make a stop, to rest, to drink water, relax a bit then only go on to the next set, then Wendy decided to let down her hair~ and suddenly the whole feel changed =]
There was a small pile of bamboo, but I guess we can make the best of it =)
This is also another favorite, somehow everything else seems to blend together, and what makes me like it more is that there was no editing required, just took the picture with the Japanese Picture Style =)
Then across the street there was this erm... forgot what you called this but she hopped on and posed straight, wow...

This picture is also a sure favorite because of the way she posed, especially the legs that somehow perfected this picture together =)

Yet again unedited with Japanese Picture Style~

Then she went to the front of the car to pose~
Becoming like a GT Girl for a weird vehicle~ haha!! XD
Then in the distance we saw a whole lot of joggers coming... woah~ =)
This is a priceless picture because not only how Wendy was pointing at them but how the girl in orange was posing too~ XD
She somehow loves this picture especially because of the expression on the guy's face~ =)

Yet again you can click on it to view at a larger size =P
There were a whole lot of Photographers at that place too, 99% of them were wedding photographers, and we spent some time just staring at them for no particular reason =P

And yeah Wendy's clothes changed again~~~ XD

*TRANSFORM!!*

Then went to this little erm... hut~

And yet again this picture has became one of my most favorites of the day, not sure how to explain it but I feel that everything else just blends in together, from the background to the posture and to the facial expression... really goes well especially with the Japanese Picture Style~ =]
This is also one I like, somehow the colors felt right for me~
Then was on to the Edible Garden because I remembered this pure red wall that kinda matched with her current dressing~

It's a tight, small place, but making the best of what you have is what makes things interesting =)

Ran down to the below of the edible garden to capture a shot like this =)
Then she went down I went up~ XD

Well then we wanted to capture some shots of her siting down by the lake, but somehow none of those shots from any angle turned out nice for me, felt just plain and boring... not impactful....

Haha... ahhh well was searching around till I had to run over the bridge to go on to the other side to capture a shot like this~
Along with the reflections of the lake I'd say it ain't bad~ =)
We brought an umbrella along but it was just for fun or just in case the rain came back, but it turned out as quite a good prop~
This was taken at the tree when she climbed up~

I still remember myself crashing my head on the huge branch O.o
For this.... the sky turned out okay... but she's not well lit enough~~

After this we had another break, to just sit down together, go thru the pictures one by one and delete those that didn't turn out good... because my memory card was already full by then... whew!!

Then we visited the Deer Farm again, yet again another sad sight to see... -_-''

After that we felt like we were quite finished already, but decided to do just one more set on the bridge =)
At this time the gloomy clouds were already gone and the beautiful clouds started to come out~ =)

Had to turn this picture into a silhouette because the original one was kinda a mistake ~ a bit underexposed~~ XD

Errm.... well after some sets from this, I just wanted to capture her together with the background, but after trying and adjusting it was really hard because the light from the sky isn't pleasent that time.... sigh~

Well it was my first time ever but I've decided to try out HDR for once =)
Results came out... quite okay for a first try I guess... but still room for much improvement~~

well overall what did I think about this first photoshoot?? Well I posted these pictures on Flickr to ask for comments, and alot of people said that most of my pictures were overexposed, colors weren't full, etc...

But that was what I was looking for in my picture, somehow I can feel that those ang mo's don't like the effects produce by the Japanese Picture Style~ haha but well their comments are to be considered and to be taken in, not fully, but something to think about~~

Kinda thankful too for my first model Wendy, because by nature she's those type of girls that is very active, not afraid to get herself dirty, sporting especially when chasing those ducks~~ and also having a sunny attitude all of the time ... but what I liked about her was how she helped me by giving suggestions on how to photograph her, giving such simple but very nice poses and facial expressions... I really enjoyed this photoshoot with her, and personally I've learned alot too myself, hopefully there would be another chance in the future to work together again =)

Oh ya... recently she's joine this modeling thingy, though she said that she's just joining it for fun... but haha if you all have the time, do visit the website below and support her k?? =)
