From The City to Nature

Jeng Jeng Jeng

Mmmm..... Well Poh Wei came back for a holiday, so so so.... it would be only right to bring him out for a photography outing~ and since I haven't been on one too for a long long long time ~~

The hardest thing was always to decide where to go, especially when they recommendations from others would be:

"You decide la"

but really la, not much areas I know in KL area that can be photographed, and even those nice places that I see in the websites, well when I asked those people where it was, they wouldn't even tell me, say secret ah, etc etc ahhh.... some even more geng... I ask which area they say "cheras lo" wahseh brother... cheras very big leh, but same la, never tell me in the end...

Not quite sure why those fella's so cocky -_-

But then again.... ahh well, thought of going to Masjid Jamek area again since he hasn't been there, and also bring along two other friends since they just got a DSLR and is interested to photograph something too =)
started off in Cap Square though... but with the bad timing, and wanting to avoid the jam, we could only spend an hour in the area to take pictures, quite a rush I know....
especially when you wanna take fast and move on, and this fella is always left behind -_-
yeah well, this was the first pictures, and the buildin from a far~ mmm mmm =)

rushing, running here and there =p
then brought them to the back alley, in which you can see the truly asia part of Malaysia that is badly maintained...
but when you take a picture like that people would comment saying "wow beautiful!!!"
this is your definition of beauty??? O.o
Oh well, I still like this mamak, but I would never go into it to eat, after one day the air con's all drop down ah, wahseh gone case...
building building

after capturing a few shots.... they we all questioned...

"Where's the China guy???"

since he went missing again -_-
then found him in the middle of the road taking pictures of cars.... adoi....

can give you headache wan to take care of him XD
well after that, we had to rush off soon, escape the jam, and also to try out a new area~~

I-City
was quite a long drive, but erm... this is I-city???

Seen that place in pictures, and looks interesting, looks kinda nice, so thought it would good to visit =)
clouds clouds~~
Not sure why but they directed the traffic to rather deep inside, then we've gotta walk for a short while before finding the first colored, lit up tree~
if you're wondering, I-city is famous for the lit up trees, nope those are not leaves, just some pirated lights that would be light up when it's dark, in the day.... well it wouldn't be so interesting~~
See see?? the trunk also fake~ XD
wasn't long till the sun begun to set~
they had a bunch of huge cactus too, the height of a person~ but not sure why they didn't light them up~
wonder if anybody went to eat these?? =p
And yet again.... when we were moving on suddenly one fella was missing again... yeap... same guy, this time doing a rather powerful picture taking pose... amazing =p

Well... so here we were at, the legendary I-City, as excited as I wa..
errrr... that's it???

It looked bigger in pictures though.... but it was really small, not a big huge place, and I was expecting a whole park filled with glow in the dark trees.... =(
then again..... ah well.... since we're here, let's make the best of it...

Peacock... squakkkk
in the corner you could find a whole bunch of little christmas trees, wrong season?? Not sure.... either way at a situation like this, turning your lens off focus is wonderful to create a bokeh effect ~~
By the lens itself it'll only make these little shapes, which can be nice, but depends on the user... but I would recommend doing those custom bokeh shapes~ since it'll really suit, and the mixture of color is great... like doing a star shaped bokeh here~

I didn't do because I didn't have~ =p

after awhile we felt raindrops... then it was one of those "ah shoot" situations.....
so we've decided to take a group picture~
press and run~~

But of course taking group pictures at night is rather hard cause no lights and stuff...
That's where Poh Wei's wireless flash came to use~ =)
set the settings, put the flash on the floor in front of us~ ah wahlah you have a well lit night shot~~

Of course I don't have the picture with me at the moment =p

Well then we thought of just taking 10mins more of pictures, then leave, so... hurry hurry hurry!!!

erm... zoom burst effect, just zoom in or out during the shot, very easy =)
after that I tried of doing a shot... but somehow it didn't turn out as I wanted it to be because of using the pop-up flash on the camera... and since it can only fire in one direction... haha kinda hard to use~~

Well Poh Wei then borrowed me his wireless flash to try try....

I've never actually tried things like these~~ but nevertheless... just give it a try la =P
then the results were..... wahseh O.o
sorry ah but wireless flash a bit too siao d O.o
Then I went gila d la..... screw the 10mins!!

Started taking portrait shots with the wireless flash, this is with the flash firing from downwards
and this is the flash firing from above him... sorry I'm still getting used to it~ =P

After a couple shots... okay I've got it~ XD

jeng jeng =p

this one ah.... while I pressed the button, he went and press the shutter button on his camera, so the camera went to auto focus, and that's why the light came on... urrrh -_-
Then went to take a picture of Poh Wei's camera~ wanted to do a shot where you could see all the bokeh in the lens refl
flash firing from the side =)

then decided to capture a few shots for Poh Wei too ~ =)
what you can do with colored trees XD

After that ah.... well my imagination just went berserk la.... then asked the China guy to put the flash under him ~ XD
Huahhhh!!!
haha it's a whole new world to explore~~

Here's where we experimented with colored paper, this one was blue~

other few more shots~~

After that.... haha sorry but I was bursting with things to try in my mind.... really interesting leh wireless flash, I guess you could say I hungered for more different shots~~ so I had idea~ combining movement with the power of the flash to stop objects =P
1st shot, failed
fail...
erm... not yet...
overall it was all just switching of settings...
erm... yeah there, but the left portion of his face is missing.... so decided to move the flash to his left other than his right~~
erm... I guess I've got it~ XD
did one for Poh Wei too~~

Oh ya... didn't edit these shots, cause I was looking at it and wondering, how to edit ah??? so decided to be lazy =)
final was to try a few group shots..... and yes three people is so much more harder than one person O.o
Couldn't get it all, unless if I had another extra wireless flash to cover the left side of their faces~ oh well =)
Overall, yeah this is what a wireless flash can do~ then i told myself.... oklah no choice must buy one d~~ XD

Ahhh.... such an interesting experience, I think we could do a portrait shoot here some day~~ but wait till I master the wireless flash first, then of course need an assistant for these kinda shots... whew~~

Plan plan plan plan =p

But overall, and enjoyable day, looking forward to what's next~~ jeng jeng~~
